The ballroom, inspired by the painter, Hendrik Willem Mesdag, and other public spaces were designed with the same concept. Upon entering the hall one encounters a ceiling in the shape of a ship’s hull and the pastel shades indicative of Mesdag’s work. All public spaces reflect the splendour and glory of the Golden Age. All convincingly realised with contemporary materials and techniques.
